Yumi Watanabe – Correpetition
The Japanese pianist studied piano, song accompaniment and music pedagogy at Osaka College of Music in addition to her main subject. After completing her studies, she moved to Germany to continue her studies at the Hamburg Conservatory.
Already during her studies she developed an active concert activity. In addition to her own piano recitals, she has performed as a soloist with the Bulgarian State Orchestra Sofia and the Orchestra of the Hamburg Conservatory, she has given concerts with various chamber music ensembles and accompanied recitals. CD recordings for a project of OLYMPUS (2008) and the CD “Frauengeschichte(n)” with mezzo-soprano Susanne Lichtenberg made her famous in Hamburg.
From 2009 to 2010 she was a scholarship holder of the foundation YEHUDI MENUHIN Live Music Now Hamburg.
Since 2013 she has been supporting concerts and rehearsals of the Hamburg children’s choir “Cantemus” as a répétiteur, with whom she has given concerts in China, Canada, Poland and Ukraine, among others, and was intensively involved in the preparation of the Hamburg premiere of Lera Auerbach’s “Galgenlieder” for children’s choir and saxophone quartet. In addition to her concert activities, she is a piano teacher at the Hamburg Conservatory and the Young Music Academy in Hamburg.
